Rules & Terms

These rules are still a work in progress. By playing this game, you agree to comply with them.

Failure to comply with these rules can result from anything from a gentle reminder to a ban depending on severity. Minor game-related infractions won't warrant any consequence, and the most we'll probably do is just say "we can't roll this activity because x y and z". However, larger and more troublesome infractions like harassing somebody or posting inappropriate images, now that might result in getting kicked out for a bit or permanently.

Please understand that this game runs on RNG, and any outcome you receive from activities with a prize pool will be entirely random. Also, this game is in a very early stage of development. Things are gonna change and things might not end up working that we'll fix and tweak as we get a feel for how the game works.

Please also note that all of our staff are humans, and we make mistakes sometimes, and life also gets in the way! Rolls might not happen right away but we try to keep them to responding within the week of the comment being posted.

Conduct Terms

  • Please keep usernames and icons PG-13.
  • Users may not create alternate accounts for the purpose of collecting "one-off" prizes or prompts multiple times.
  • No NSFW content should be shared in our Discord or any comment section of the group.
  • Hateful/discriminatory content, language, etc isn't tolerated either.
  • Nor is harassment and disrepect of other users in the group and the staff, based on design ownership, personal issues, gameplay outcomes, etc. Keep it respectful!
  • Users should be over 13 to comply with the policies of the sites we primarily operate on.
  • If a player has a moderator blocked, player submissions to whatever activity that moderator runs will be skipped. We've got too much to do to always be on the look out to fill in for cases like that!

Character Ownership & Property Terms

  • Import bases are to be used in-game only and certainly not for commercial use.
  • Phonies cannot mimic copyrighted characters.
  • Phonies should not mimic existing phonies on the masterlist. There are a lot of phonies to keep track of so we may not be able to immediately identify duplicates, so please contact us if you see a duplicate of your design out there. For cloned phonies where the offspring is similar to the parent, read more in the breeding guide!
  • Phonies can be traded for anything at any time. We have no transfer restrictions.

You may use art created by yourself in this ARPG and of creatures belonging to it for personal use and for personal marketing purposes such as to show commission and design skill examples, but please don't use official artworks/imports for commercial use.

Phonies and Palindromes are a closed species. This means that in the ARPG, you cannot make your own without permission. (We deal with that pretty quickly, though. If you join the group you're given a free egg.) If you don't care about participating in the ARPG, you can make your own design for personal use so long as you give credit for the species design where it's due, but the only designs that are canon in the game are official NPCs/worldbuilding characters or imports on the masterlist. Characters that fall outside of these terms cannot participate in the ARPG. They do not gain experience and cannot be bred, schooled with, foraged with or used in prompts.

Ideally, we'd prefer if people didn't start creating game-invalid designs and selling them. That's, like, rule #1 of closed species etiquitte.

Speaking of closed species etiquitte, by owning a phony or palindrome, you own a character under the concept of the species, but not necessarily the species itself. If you have a phony, you own a phony and that phony exists in the canon of the wider game, but you don't own phonies itself. It's like if you had a wolf character. You created that character who is a wolf, but you didn't invent wolves as a concept.

Art and Hosting Terms

  • No explicit sexual content is allowed in submitted art. Gore is allowed as long as it's given a content warning for folks who'd rather not see that kind of stuff.
  • This should be obvious, but no tracing art from other users.
  • Art traced from photos or done on bases are allowed, but have strict guidelines. Such pieces must be either:
    • A) Done on a base with permission. I.e. be free-to-use, or paid-to-use provided you've actually paid for it.
    • B) Traced over an image taken by you, or someone else you have permission from
    • C) Traced over an image with a free-use license. I.e. free stock images, or anything with a CC free use license.
  • Traced/base pieces are not eligible for most activities, but gain gain experience points if they've been colored or include a background.
  • Traced/base pieces must link back to the source (the original photo/base) in their submission descriptions, or in the tracker.
  • Image taken from Wikimedia Commons

  • Generative art isn't eligible for submission.
  • Activity art doesn't have to be drawn by you, and can be commissioned, traded for or collaborated on.
  • Activity art can "double dip" with foraging and one other activity. So, you could draw a breeding scene and if it happens to qualify for foraging you can use that image as the "work" done for both breeding and foraging.
