Summer Event 2025

Start date - End date
What's New?
This event is all about the Human Ruins Biome which we've been putting off releasing for years!
You can find more info about the ruins on their biome page, but essentially the human ruins are any part of Confibula that humans have attempted to colonize. There are plenty of research bases and mining operations scattered around the world. This biome is unique in that it can be combined with any other terrestrial biome! In your art you can depict a grassland ruin, or a woodland ruin, or a tundra ruin, and so on and so forth. Humans have since abandoned all of their posts on Confibula, leaving them to be reclaimed by nature and explored by curious phonies like yours.
The main thing that makes art qualified to be considered in the ruins is the presence of human activity. The easiest way to do this is to add elements of human structures and technology scattered around your backgrounds. This could be vehicles, buildings, tools, mines, and so on. You can read more about the requirements in their biome page!
Quest
The main part of this event is a choose your own adventure quest where you can get all sorts of nifty prizes. The only prompt you have to complete in this quest is the introduction. Otherwise, you can do as many or as little of the other prompts as you wish. Have fun!
Rules/requirements
- A phony can only do each prompt once. You can redo this quest as many times as you like with other phonies, though.
- You may depict multiple phonies in each prompt but you must pick one to be the recipient of awards.
- All phonies must be fullbody and not traced, reused or on a base.
- All image submissions must be colored. Shading isn't required.
- All backgrounds must satisfy the "human ruins" requirements and must take place in the ruins biome.
- Each prompt has certain items or characters that must be included too.
Now with that out of the way... the quest!
Introduction Prompt
Your phony has stumbled upon the ruins of a human colony. How do they react? Is this their first time in a ruin, or have they been around such things their whole life? What kind of base is it? Was it a research base home to scientists? Was it a mining base built around a crop of rare minerals? What biome is it in? Is it a big base full of buildings and vehicles, or a little one that only a few people lived in?
In this prompt, depict your phony coming upon the ruins. No special requirements.
Reward: x1 Firestarter (Can be used to craft a campfire in your territory!)
Prompt A: The Lab
Your phony ventures into the colony. Here, they find a genetics lab filled with all sorts of strange devices, some of which you may recognize from the Shopkeeper's liquidation sales, and some which you may not. What does your phony find inside? Why did the aliens who built this place have access to the items you use to edit a phony's genotype?
In this prompt, depict your phony exploring a lab. This is an interior scene and must show the inside of a building with its lab equipment.
Reward: x1 General Egg with the "Window" trait guaranteed, x2 Empty dish, x1 Half-filled dish, x1 Cultured dish
Prompt B: The Ship
Your phony finds themself exploring a grounded human ship. There, they find six colorful furvitus phonies defending a... big white blanket? Wait, no, it's moving and speaking. What? The phonies immediately jump to attack. Do they drive your phony away? Do they fight back? If your phony can manage to get past them, the strange floppy white thing introduces itself, because for some reason it knows your language, as a computer built by aliens far away who's trying to fix the ship to make it fly again. How does your phony respond to this? Do they have many questions to ask? Are they weirded out and try to get away from all these alien shenanigans?
In this prompt, depict your phony participating in this scene. It can be the inside of a ship, or the outside of it, but a ship must be included. The Rainbow Furvitus School and Cloth must also be present, but don't all have to be fullbodies.
Reward: x1 Human Vehicle (For your territory!)
Prompt C: The Human
Outside, your phony finds the last remaining human attempting to repair a drone. You approach them, curiously. The human is muttering something completely incoherent, and is clearly struggling with repairs. What does your phony do? Do they try to help? Do they simply watch the human struggle?
In this prompt, depict your phony participating in this scene. The Human and at least one drone or other piece of equipment must be present.
Reward: x1 Robobuddy voucher
Prompt D: The Mine
Your phony explores an open pit mine, a great big hole in the ground that the humans collected rocks out of. What kind of rocks are in this area? How big is it? They scale their way down to the bottom of the pit, and find a mining vehicle still full with all sorts of rare minerals. Well, since they're not around anymore, why not take some for yourself? Riches abound!
In this prompt, depict your phony participating in this scene. This scene must take place in an open pit mine.
Reward: x2 Sparkly Ore, x1 Aggressively Bright Blue Stone, x1 Deep Red Stone
Prompt E: The Earthlings
Your phony then runs into a little camp full of aliens! Not the kind they'd expect, though. They're met with a little patch of cabbages, broccoli and kale, all growing wild, and teeming with little crabs and other earthly shellfish. Not that your phony knows this, but these are the descendents of the farm operations that the humans attempted.
In this prompt, depict your phony participating in this scene. Acceptable earthlings must be present in the scene.
Reward: x1 Earthling Crab Buddy voucher, x1 Cabbage Patch (For your territory!)
Prompt F: The Tent
Your phony, while wandering outside, finds a vehicle, or perhaps some scrap wreckage, pinning down a poor unfortunate baby tent! What does your phony do? Do they immediately try to help the little critter out of its precarious situation? A young tent is quite vulnerable. Were other critters already at the scene, trying to attack the poor thing? Or were they all alone? When the little tent is free, your phony gets the idea to place it somewhere safe so it can grow big and strong.
In this prompt, depict your phony participating in this scene. A tent larva must be present.
Reward: x1 Tent Larva (For your territory!)

New buddy - Robobuddies
Behold, a new buddy to play with! Recently it seems like the ruins are crawling with little drones, relics from long ago. Robobuddies behave similarly to foraging buddies in that they grant an extra roll when foraging. However, [insert drawback]
Robobuddies can be obtained through this event's quest.
As for how their designs must be...
- Aesthetic: The settling humans had technology with smooth, round shapes. Their tech had a "friendly" look to it.
- Body plan: You have some freedom here. You can make your robobuddy quadrupedal, wheeled, with drone blades, and so on. They should not closely resemble earth animals or humans, and they shouldn't have distinct facial features.
- Colors: At the very least, some part of the livery must be white. You can add any other colors aside from this, but some part must be white.

New Gene - Window (Wn)
Window is a dominant gene which adds a patch of clearbodiedness to an otherwise normal phony. The clear "window" can expose organs and bones underneath, or can be totally clear. However, you may only add a single continuous patch of clearness to the phony, and the clearness cannot take more than half of the body.
- Patches may be hard or soft edged
- Same presentation regardless of zygousness
- Patches may mimic some markings, or may not
- Patches must be one continuous patch (In the example's case, the clearness is implied to continue under the leg blocking it)
