The Human Colony Ruins

This page is all about the colony ruins, one of many human-altered sites on Confibula.

Futuristic humans attempted to colonize Confibula in an attempt to expand their interstellar empire. However, they didn't get very far before disappearing with little notice. During their tenure they had many small research bases, agricultural and mining operations, scattered around the world.
The main gimmick with this biome is that it can be combined with any other biome! As long as it has enough human stuff to be considered part of the ruins, you can roll for it. However, do keep in mind that the ruins have increased injury and boss encounter chances.
When depicting this biome in art, keep these components in mind:
- At least two human artifacts (These could be buildings, vehicles, drones, piles of garbage, so on...)
- Can have scenery from any terrestrial biome (Humans probably had a few coastal bases so you may depict beaches, but they did not have underwater ones! They also did not have bases in the brine.)
- The human artifacts present must make sense in some way! The human colonies were for research and resource extraction purposes. They didn't have all the amenities of a regular human city. There weren't any shops or schools or civilian houses and so on. This is also a futuristic setting, and one where they were trying to keep things lightweight and cheap. There wouldn't be many structures made of regular materials like wood or bricks. In that same vein, we have a particular aesthetic for the architecture and technology the humans had. You're welcome to get creative, but please keep the overall look we're going for in mind here!
Speaking of which...

Examples of vehicles you might find in a colony ruin. Their tech was smooth, round and friendly, with white and brightly colored liveries. Robot arms and legs were very popular, even on things that normally wouldn't have arms or legs. *Especially* on things that normally wouldn't have arms or legs.

Similarly to the bigger vehicles, smaller drones had matching color schemes. These little robots were often used for exploration trips, or help back at the base.

Examples of buildings you might find in a colony ruin. Most buildings were, similarly to the rest of the tech, white with some bright colors, and a bit of dark grey here and there.
You're of course welcome to make up your own designs for buildings or technology. Just try to play along with the vibe we've set up here!
