This page is all about saltpan, also known as the brine desert.
The brine desert is a trademark biome on this world. Situated in the heart of the continent, many phonies have to cross endless plains of salty crusts and briny water to reach new lands. It's known for shallow pools that reflect the sky, and beautiful cloud formations. The conditions are harsh for most organisms and few linger in these lands for more than a couple of days due to the heat and lack of drinkable water. Some have managed to adapt like a specific subculture of phony as well as halophilic microorganisms.
When depicting this biome in art, keep these components in mind:
- Devoid of foliage
- Shallow pools of red water and salt crusts dividing them
- Brighter sun than usual
- Ice rings look narrow in the sky (ignore how they look in the main image. I gotta make an updated version.)
